Harry Potter - Dumbledore
Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore is a fictional character within the Harry Potter series written by British author J. K. Rowling. For the majority of the series, he is the headmaster of the wizarding school Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. As part of his back story, it is revealed that he is the founder and leader of the "Order of the Phoenix", an organisation dedicated to fighting the main antagonist of the series, Lord Voldemort. Rowling's elderly headmaster at St Michael's Primary School, Alfred Dunn, is claimed as the inspiration for Dumbledore.
In the first two film adaptations of the series, Dumbledore was portrayed by actor Richard Harris. Following his death shortly before the release of the second film, the role was re-cast with Sir Michael Gambon, who has portrayed the character in the subsequent films.
